Half-day Online Workshop

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in changes to practices in many of our community settings, including municipal public parks. This workshop will explore the specific application of preventive practices to tackle common questions arising from operators and organizations.

Learn about COVID-19 transmission, how long it survives in the environment, Provincial and Municipal requirements for infection prevention and control, how to clean equipment, how to support safe and healthy behaviours through playground use, and more!

This workshop is offered by the Ontario Parks Association in collaboration with the Ontario Public Health Association.

Instructor: Cathy Egan
Cathy Egan has been a Public Health Inspector since 1990 and held many positions in local and provincial public health agencies. Cathy has specialized in Infection Prevention and Control and is currently a professor at Conestoga College and conducts research in environmental disinfection.
